Here, we are going to learn to add section and category on joomla site.I know this is a very easy task but this is very usefull for new Joomla user who is using joomla for the first time.I have used joomla 1.5 for my site www.emergingyouths.com.So,i am going to explain the steps according to joomla 1.5.

Sections are the main columns in which you have to divide the content of your site.Here in my site Technology,career,sports,business etc are the sections in which i add content.Category is the sub column of section.Like,in my site Celebrities,Movies & Music and cool stuffs are three different categories in Entertainment section.Categories are meant for dividing the particular type of content in to more specific types.

So,follow the following steps for creating seaction:
(1) Login to your administrator account and go to the Section Manager in Content Tag.

(2) In Section Manager,click on New button to add section.As shown in the image given below.

(3)A Section:[New] window will appear.Write the Section Tittle,Alias,Select the publishing option and access level as shown the image given below.Rest of the things are optional.

(4) Click the save button on top corner right hand side.
(5) And your section is ready.

Now, we will learn how to add category in a particular section:
(1) First, go to the Category Manager in Content Tag.
(2) Click on the New Button in Category Manager.
(3) A Category:[New] window will appear.Write the Category Title,Alias and select the publishing option as shown in image given below.
(4) The most important thing is to select the Section,select the Section in which you want to add the Category,as i have choosen Technology section in the image given below.Rest of the things are optional.

(5) Click the save button on top corner right hand side.
(6) And your category is ready to add content.
