Today,Indian festival season is starting with Navratri(Durga Puja).This is a 9 day celebration.These 9 days are dedicated to Hindu Goddess Durga.Durga Puja is celebrated in different parts of india in different ways.In North east (west bengal),it is celebrated as the victory of goddess(Ma durga) over evil.In western region,it is celebrated with Dandia and garbha dances.In North India, Navratri is followed by Vijay Dashami(Ram Dashami).During 9 days in North india,Ramleela is observed.On 10th day after Navratri , Dashera is celebrated as the victory of Loard Ram over Ravan.During Navratri,Maharaja Agarsain Jayanti celebration on 20th Sep. 2009 and Eid celebration on 21st sep. 2009 is also there.Dashera celebration is on 28th sep.2009. After 20 days of Dashera celebration, 5 day Diwali Celebration is there. Different reasons are considered for the celebration of Diwali.The reason i know as the occasion for the retun of Loard Ram to Ayodhya after his 14 year exile from Ayodhya.
